The Moscow Cats Theatre is a theatre in Moscow, Russia, dedicated to the craft of cat acting. It was founded by veteran Russian clown Yuri Kuklachev. The theatre is called the "Moscow Cats Theatre" in English, but its official name is "Театр кошек Москвы." The theatre was founded in 1990. It is one of the most popular theatres in Moscow, with about 1000 seats on three floors being filled for every performance. The theatre's steady success has been attributed to Kuklachev's ability to combine humor and imagination with technical knowledge on the stagecraft of cats.
